B-Complex

60 Vegan Capsules · All 8 B-Vitamins at 100% RDA · Methylcobalamin B12 + L-5-MTHF Folate · Whole-Food Botanical Blend · 1-Month Supply

Evidence: High All 8 B-Vitamins Active Forms Whole-Food Blend

This is for you if

  • You want comprehensive B-vitamin support — all 8 B-vitamins in one product, not just B12 and folate
  • You're under chronic stress, drink alcohol regularly, or take medications (oral contraceptives, metformin, PPIs) that deplete B-vitamins
  • You're vegan or vegetarian and want a B-vitamin product anchored in whole-food Indian botanicals rather than purely synthetic forms
  • You want active forms of B12 (methylcobalamin) and folate (L-5-MTHF) where it matters most — not just the cheap synthetic versions

What changes, and when

  • Wk 2–4 B-vitamins reach steady state in serum; methylation pathways function efficiently
  • Wk 4–6 Energy metabolism stabilises if you were sub-adequate at baseline; adults with stress-driven B-vitamin demand notice normalisation
  • Wk 6–12 Blood markers (serum B12, MMA, homocysteine, riboflavin status) reflect supplementation
  • Ongoing Daily B-vitamin foundation holds across years of consistent intake

Note: B-vitamins are cofactors for the enzymes that convert carbs, fats, and protein into ATP — the body's energy currency. Supplementing them doesn't feel like caffeine and won't give you a stimulant boost. If you were genuinely B-deficient and your metabolism was sub-optimal, daily supplementation brings it back to normal — and you may notice gradual improvements in energy stability, mental clarity, and recovery. If you weren't deficient, the supplement maintains your status without producing a noticeable felt effect. The honest framing: this product supports the foundation, not a performance boost.

Dosage & Rationale

2
Capsule
2 Capsules daily · before a meal · with water

Why before a meal? — Some B-vitamins (particularly B12 and folate) absorb better when stomach acid is more active — which happens before eating, in anticipation of food. This is a small absorption optimisation that most B-complex products don't bother with. The "before meal" timing typically means 15-30 minutes before breakfast, with a glass of water.

Why 2 capsules? — The full 8-B-vitamin blend plus the 768mg whole-food botanical matrix and 249mg moringa requires more capsule volume than would fit in a single capsule. The 2-capsule serving keeps each capsule a reasonable size for swallowing — particularly important for the whole-food botanical blend which adds bulk.

Why morning timing? — B-vitamins support energy metabolism, and morning dosing positions them for the daytime metabolic load. Some adults experience subtle sleep-onset interference with B-vitamins taken late in the day — morning dosing avoids this.

Loading Period: 4–6 weeks for blood markers to reflect supplementation

Most B-vitamins reach steady state in serum within 4-6 weeks of consistent daily use. B12 and folate-driven markers (MMA, homocysteine) may take longer to stabilise if you were starting from low baseline status. Felt effects are not reliable indicators — blood markers are. Get a baseline blood test before starting if you want to actually measure the change.

For specific deficiencies — This is a maintenance formulation, not a corrective one. Adults with documented B12 deficiency (low serum B12, elevated MMA) typically need higher therapeutic doses (1000-2000mcg B12 daily for several weeks) before stepping down to maintenance. Adults with documented folate deficiency may similarly need higher folate doses initially. Consult your physician for correction before relying on this product for maintenance.

Take as directed with water before a meal. Generally well-tolerated. Consult your healthcare provider before use if you are pregnant, lactating, on prescription medication, or have any chronic medical condition.
Pregnancy: Folate requirements rise to 600mcg DFE in the first trimester. This product contributes 300mcg DFE — half the pregnancy target. B6 and B12 needs also rise during pregnancy. Your prenatal vitamin likely contains additional folate; review total intake with your gynaecologist.
Methotrexate (cancer, severe psoriasis, autoimmune conditions): Methotrexate interacts with folate. The 300mcg DFE of L-5-MTHF is meaningful — consult your physician before starting daily use.
Metformin (diabetes): Metformin depletes B12 over time. Adults on long-term metformin frequently develop B12 deficiency, and supplementation is often beneficial. The full B-complex provides broad support beyond just B12. Mention to your physician as supportive information.
Oral contraceptives: Oral contraceptive use is associated with depletion of several B-vitamins (B2, B6, B9, B12). Daily B-complex supplementation helps offset these losses. The 100% RDA across all B-vitamins is appropriate for adults on long-term oral contraceptives.
Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs — omeprazole, pantoprazole, esomeprazole): Long-term PPI use reduces B12 absorption from food. The methylcobalamin form in this product absorbs through pathways less affected by PPI-induced acid reduction — making it useful for adults on long-term PPIs.
Yellow urine after taking this product: This is harmless. Riboflavin (B2) is bright yellow and excess riboflavin is excreted in urine, turning it bright yellow within a few hours of supplementation. This is the expected pharmacological effect, not a sign of anything wrong. Adults supplementing B-vitamins for the first time sometimes find this surprising.
Niacin flushing: The 14mg niacin dose in this product is well below the flushing threshold (~50mg). No flushing reaction expected.
B6 long-term safety: High-dose B6 supplementation (>100mg daily for many months) has been associated with peripheral neuropathy. The 1.9mg dose in this product is well below this threshold — no neuropathy concern at maintenance dose.
Already taking other Unived products: Essential Protein, Elite Performance Protein, Men's and Women's Multivitamins, ZMA, and the Basics B12 products all contain B-vitamins. If you stack two or three B-vitamin-containing products, calculate cumulative intake. Most B-vitamins are water-soluble and excess is excreted in urine — generally still safe at moderate cumulative doses, but worth being aware of for B6 specifically.
MTHFR gene variant: Adults with documented MTHFR C677T or A1298C variants benefit specifically from L-5-MTHF (active folate) over folic acid. This product uses L-5-MTHF — the better choice if you have a confirmed variant.
