What's the difference between Elite Recovery Mix and Rebuild Protein?
Both are post-session products, built for different training types. Elite Recovery Mix is for endurance training — long runs, rides, races — where glycogen depletion is the dominant recovery limiter. The 4:1 carb-to-protein ratio reflects that priority. Rebuild Protein is for strength and hypertrophy training where muscle protein synthesis is the priority. The protein-to-carb ratio is inverted, with added creatine and electrolytes. Most athletes training both ways use both products on different days, depending on the session type.
Why hypertonic, not isotonic?
A hypertonic drink delivers higher carbohydrate concentration than isotonic drinks. Post-activity, this is appropriate — your priority is rapid glycogen replenishment, not steady-state hydration, and your body tolerates higher carb loads better when not actively running. During effort, use isotonic formulations (Elite Hydration Mix, Daily Hydration) that match blood plasma concentration to maintain fluid balance. After, switch to hypertonic.
Can I take this if I'm not doing endurance training?
Probably unnecessary. Elite Recovery Mix is calibrated for activities of 90+ minutes where glycogen depletion is real. A 45-minute strength session or a moderate cardio class doesn't deplete glycogen meaningfully — a regular meal handles the recovery just fine. For shorter or strength-focused training, Rebuild Protein or Elite Performance Protein are better matches.
Why does this contain curcumin?
Curcumin attenuates post-exercise inflammation — particularly the inflammatory cascade that drives delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) over 24–48 hours. For endurance athletes training back-to-back days, dampening that inflammation supports faster subjective and measurable recovery. The 200mg dose is within the range supported by the literature for this purpose.
Is this WADA-compliant?
Yes. All ingredients in Elite Recovery Mix are free from WADA prohibited substances, and our third-party testing protocol includes contamination screening with a banned-substance multi-residue panel. Competing athletes should still confirm individual product compliance with their team physician — federation rules vary and the WADA list updates annually.
Is the curcumin in this enough on its own, or do I still need a separate Colox / curcumin product?
For acute post-exercise inflammation, 200mg curcumin in Elite Recovery Mix is appropriate. For ongoing joint comfort, chronic inflammation management, or specific injury recovery protocols, Colox (BCM-95® curcumin + Boswellia) is the more targeted choice — higher daily dose, paired with Boswellia, taken consistently rather than only post-session. Different use cases; not redundant if you need both.
Can I verify the batch tested?
Yes. Every batch number printed on the packaging links directly to the Certificate of Analysis published on this product page. Click View Certificate of Analysis in the price panel above to download the COA for the current batch.
